For importing, schema.ini must be in the same folder as the text file you are importing; for exporting, it must be in the destination folder. There's some documentation in Help, and more at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odbc/htm/odbcjetschema_ini_file.asp Access will create a schema.ini file automatically if you export to Microsoft Word Merge format.
