I am looking for a very simple appointment scheduling program. This will be
used for scheduling a doctors appointments for up to a year in advance.
Network capability would be nice but not necessary.

Thanks in advance,

Dave H.

Thanks Patrick but not exactly what I am looking for. nnCron Lite is
a computer task scheduler and not an appointment scheduler.

I appreciate your effort,

Oups sorry, I was reading too quickly

Some Options:

PlanA Organiser
PlanA Organiser is a complete organiser with sticky-notes that you can place
on your desktop. Each note colour is for an event type. You can create
sticky-notes for reminders, memos, holidays, appointments, and more!
http://www.geocities.com/jacinablackbox/SwPlanA.html

Then thers is
Mozilla FireFox (=email) whith the calendar plugin (It looks a bit like
outlook)
http://www.mozilla.org/

ClickTray
ClickTray Calendar is a user-friendly calendar, address, and reminder
program that can be accessed quickly from the Windows system tray. You can
create almost unlimited notes, enter repetitive tasks, create To Do lists,
and set alarms. It also has a practical fiscal week or month picture
display. Other handy features:

Startup reminder
StartupReminder is a very simple application that allows you to schedule
memos for certain dates (not times - as many real schedulers do); and it
allows you to specify a frequency for these memos, because many things will
be recurring on regular basis (e.g. every 14 days, every 2 months, or every
year (birthdays!)). If necessary, you can even get reminded a number of days
in advance as well, so you have time to prepare for the event.
StartupReminder will display memos (on the given days) when your computer
boots. The advantage of this method is that the program takes up no system
resources whatsoever.
The program has a very intuitive interface and is optimized for quick use.
You don't ever have to wonder what date friday in two weeks could be to
schedule a memo... The program always displays the weekdays and allows you
to pick dates in the near future from a list.

Talking Alarm Clock
a.. It uses Microsoft® Agent to show a talking animated alarm. The alarm
can also play any sound you choose and includes a handy snooze button.
a.. An alarm can be set to go off once, daily, weekly, monthly or annually,
with very flexible scheduling. Each alarm can have multiple schedules.
a.. An icon in the Windows system tray gives quick access to the alarm
clock. The New Alarm Wizard makes adding an alarm fast and easy.
a.. Talking Alarm Clock's windows are easy on the eye, with soft colors and
gentle transitions. There's also help balloon that shows a full explanation
of each part of the Alarm Clock window.

Task Plus Professional (NETWORK?)
If you are on a LAN and need a networkable version of Task Plus or simply
want more power then you will want to check out Task Plus Professional.
Task Plus Professional allows one or more users on a LAN to share the same
calendar. Group and private tasks are very easy to coordinate within an
office. Place tasks on other's calendars with alarms.
http://members.aol.com/contplus4/taskplus/taskpro.htm

I understood every one of them are (is?) freeware, even the last one
(aviable in a single user and a network version.

So pick your favorite, I'd say...

RICOlmer 2.3 (11th February 2004)
....is very handy task reminder. It can send SMS/e-mail, launch programs,
documents, shutdown/logoff system etc. with very easy definition of task
repetition (every combination is possible). It's small, intuitive, useful,
the interface is clear and not too confusing. If you use it, you will never
forget about your mother-in-law's birthday.

Thanks Rad but I believe this is a task scheduler and not an appointment
scheduler.

Thanks,

Okay, I took a look at all your suggestions. I thought that I hit paydirt
with the last. It seems to be exactly what I was looking for. The only
problem is that it is $150.00US.

Thanks anyway, I do appreciate you trying,

Susan, in all sincerity, I do appreciate your response. I suspect that I
have not made myself clear as to what I am looking for. I apologize.

Here is what I am looking for. Dr. Smith(a medical doctor) makes
appointments for his patients. The appointment person says "when would you
like to come in". The patient replies "what do you have for March 1", the
appointment person clicks on March and then on the 1st and it list the
appointments that are scheduled, and the available time slots.

I suspect that I am going to have to setup an excel spreadsheet to do this.
I thought that someone would have done this, thus keeping me from
reinventing the wheel.

Again, thanks,
Dave H.

What makes you think that?

Wald, you are right and I am wrong. After further investigation, I see that
it is indeed free. I stand corrected.

Thanks,

Susan, I love you. That is exactly what I was looking for. I am sending
you my first born.

Hurrah! Glad we managed to communicate. I'm afraid I can't except the
first born though - no remuneration allowed in ACF . . . ;)
