When setting up a scheduled tasks just as an antivirus scan, it requires the
user name and password to run. The problem is that the password I set won't
stay in there for it to run.

The run as has the computer name followed by a / and then my user name. I
click the set password, enter it twice as needed, click ok and apply. When I
come back the password is gone. I then tested the scan and it failed to run
because the status said it had an incorrect password.

How do you make the password stay?

Thanks

Hi Bruce,

Try it this way:

Running Scheduled Tasks without a password:

For Pro: Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Local Security
Policy/Local Policies/Security options. In the right hand pane (third down).

Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only.
This is enabled by default, disable it.

For Home: Run Scheduled Task without a Password (Line 68)
