Scheduled Tasks will not start automatically

Dave

Hello, I am trying to set up a scheduled task under XP
Home. I have created a new task and checked that the
command line, start in and run as parameters plus the
password are set correctly (if I do a right click / run
the application starts OK). I have checked that the Task
Scheduler service is running (it is on automatic start
anyway). However, the task will not run at the set time -
there are no entries in the log file - just nothing
happens!
Any ideas?

Hey Dave! I have the same problem. If someone helps you,
will you be kind enough to send me a copy? Thanks a
million. Jack

I had same problem this is how I got out of it.
Type services.msc in Run. Go to Task Scheduler in list
and click on it, right click and to Properties,
select "Log Tab" and that Local System Account is checked
on that one and Profile is Enabled. Then "Dependencies"
Tab, check on the Dependencies, and start the ones that
need to be and so on. Last one I had was Workstation (at
very bottom of list). After that My Scheduled Tasks ran
for me. You will find that some have dependencies that
you know you don't have to check on, be your own best
judge.

I am assuming you put in a username and password and it still doesn'
work ...try
http://tinyurl.com/687f
try # 67 then editing the tasks and entering blank for user name an
blank for password
then try it
see what happen
