Scheduled Shutdown

Hi all,

I'm trying to set up my work computer to startup and
shutdown on its own. I've got the startup thing down by
setting that in the BIOS. I'm wondering if there's any
way of getting the computer to shutdown on its own at a
certain time.

I know that there is the shutdown.exe file that you can
set as a scheduled task in XP, but if there is an
equivalent program, it doesn't go by the same name.

The computer is running Win2000, and is used as a
workstation and a license server, so it needs to be on
before anyone arrives at the office, and preferably
shutsdown during the night to minimize security threats.

Any suggestionss?

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Hi Nick:

You can use shutdown.exe in 2000 as well. Just create a scheduled task to
call the shutdown.exe with whatever switches you want and you'll be good to
go.
