Hallo,

to clean the memory management of a PC for maintenance purposes, I am
looking for a method to configure Windows2000 such that it completely
shuts down the PC date-time-controlled (e.g. each Saturday at 3:00 am)
and reboots it.

An automatic login would be preferred, so that the user needs not login
manually.

Preferably, the required function should detect (depending on a power
status?) ongoing activities on the computer, and if there are any delay
the shutdown and reboot process.

Are there any on-board features of Windows200 to configure this? Which
freeware or shareware would facilitate such functionality?

In advance thanks for your help!

You can use the Task Scheduler to launch shutdown.exe or shutdown2.exe
(from the files area of http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WinTips-Tricks/)
to shut down and restart the PC, and TweakUI to log on your user.
Check Google for download sites for TweakUI.
