I recently set up a computer donated to a charity organization.
The computer is an HP that has a 1.3 G CPU, 768 MB Ram, two 40 G Hard
Drives.
I set up the first physical drive as 'C:' using the entirety of it's space.
I set up the second physical drive as two extended partition logical drives
with the Drive 'D:' as the pagefile drive and the last drive 'E:' as a
storage drive.
The first time I ran a scheduled checkdisk on any of the three logical
drives, the checkdisk completes without any difficulties and finds no
problems. Then it says:
'Windows has finished checking your disk.
Please wait while your computer restarts.'
except it doesn't..... I see no evidence of hard drive activity base on the
indicator light and have waited all night and still no joy.
I turned it off and did a cold restart and it ran the scheduled cheskdisk
with the same outcome.
Can someone help me out with this...I've not seen anything like this before.
Thanks in advance...
