Schedule shutdown of Windows XP

Hi
I have scehduled a job using 'shutdown -r' to shutdown my computer at a
specific time and date, but I noticed that if the screen saver with 'on
resume, password protected' option is turned on, the shutdown will fail!
Can someone help, please.

I seem to recall the same behavior. What you might try is a logoff
screensaver instead such as Winexit.scr or one of the third party ones. You
can get winexit at the link below. --- Steve
