Dotan

hi,
is there a way to run 2 instances of the shcedule service
on the same server?

thanks Dotan.

Hi Dotan,

Why would you want to run multiple Scheduler Service instances when you can
run multiple jobs under a single Scheduler Service instance?

Mike thanks for replying,
the reason for that is that this is a 2 boxes cluster the schedule
service was set to run as a cluster resource and in this case the
schedule service will be up only on the active node. we still need to
continue and run some jobs on the passive node.

thanks Dotan.

Dotan,

Then to answer your question, it would be No you cannot run two instances of
Scheduler service on the same node. The only resolution to your issue I see
would be one of the following options:

1. Would be not to create a clustered resource for the Scheduler service
and run them individually on each node.
2. Or create a new group with Physical Disk, Network Name, IP Address &
Scheduler resources on the other node making it an Active/Active cluster and
"Do not restart" if it fails so it doesn't move the group over to the other
node.

Mike,
in all solutions you still need to keep 2 separated disks for the
scheduler, what I'm looking is to avoid the need to keep each job
twice ( one on each node) and also avoid the need to sync dozens of
jobs .
any other way to still be able to maintain the evn. and still be able
to use the service.

Thanks Dotan.
