schedule defrag

How can I schedule Disk Defragment to run at a certain
time? Also, the same with ScanDisk. They do not appear
in the available programs under Task Scheduler and the MS
site was vague to say the least on how I could schedule
these tasks.

ScanDisk is no longer supported in XP, replaced by

ChkDsk.
Go to My Computer > Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks.
Click "Add Scheduled Task" and in the "Scheduled Task
Wizzard", click Browse. Search for C:\Windows\System32
and then for defrag.exe and also chkdsk.exe. Click on
each seperately and schedule each accordingly as you
desire.
