How can I schedule a sweep each time I boot up my computer BUT on specific
days (not every day)?

Is there a string I can paste into windows Scheduled Tasks?

Defender uses the Scheduled Tasks function in your Control Panel, so just
turn off the automatic scan in Defenders Options and add a new scheduled
task(s) to run at system startup on the days you desire there. The format
is:

"C:\Program Files\Windows
Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -Scan -RestrictPrivileges -Scantype X

where X is 2 for a full and 1 for a quick scan

The double quotes need to be there due to the space between Windows and
Defender in the command syntax. Further parameters can be displayed by
issuing MpCmdRun Help while in the Defender directory at a Command Prompt.

I tried to do as you suggest but when I chose to run it at system start-up I
lost the option to choose a day.

I see the dilemma. You loose all other options when you select run at
start-up with the built in Scheduler. There's probably a third party
scheduler that would get around that limitation, a bunch pop up when
googled, but I don't know of one to recommend. Lets see if anyone has a
suggestion for you to try... a number of them are red flagged by McAfee
Site Advisor, so use caution if you experiment with any.
