Schedualing Tasks

Is there a way that i can schedual tasks, so that i can have a task added to
my list just for a specific day, for instance a reaccuring bill that would
be due each month on a specific date. i have tried to set this up but when
i do it shows all the tasks that i have for the future, i wanted my calender
to add the task the day it is needed and not before that time..
how do i do it
