Scatter chart without connecting lines?

Could someone please help me out with my XY (Scatter) Chart? I've use
the wizard (want to get it right then make a macro) and chosen the dat
points connected by a smoothed line type.

Using the data below with the Perc on the Y axis and the Dates acros
the bottom, I can plot the data points correctly for each series bu
they do not show the connecting line. Can someone please tell me ho
to make these lines connected? Or even how I go about using a lin
graph to display the data below?

under chart wizard if you click scatter graph there are five choices. except
the first one all others will give your connecting lines.
 
Even though I'd selected a graph with connecting line the graphs stil
weren't connecting.

I found it was because there are missing values in the data and exce
doesn't know how to connect them.

In Tools - Options - Charts there is an option about Plotting empt
cells.

Didn't you try the various options? Five seconds per try until you find the one you
like. Probably the 'Interpolate' option.

Of course, if you don't have true blanks, but you have formulas pretending to be
blanks, like =IF(A1<>0,B1/A1,""), the "" will be plotted like a zero, because it's a
text string without a numerical value. Change the "" in these formulas to NA(),
which gives you ugly #N/A errors in the sheet but interpolated lines in the chart.

Use conditional formatting in the sheet to hide the errors, as taught by Debra
Dalgleish:
