Scanpst.exe staying on step 7 of 8 at 0%

I had to shut the computer down without closing Outlook. Now when I try to
start Outlook 2007 it says that I need to run Scanpst. How long can Scanpst
take? Should I just leave it on overnight? What if I'm not even seeing the
percentage bar move at all? Please advise.

Scanpst does not work in beta 2. It has been fixed in later versions.

You can't. Restore from backup is the recommended way to go. You could try
using scanpst.exe on a system with Outlook 2003 installed but results are
not guaranteed (could lead to even further corruption).

Why would you expect to be able to do so?
Do you not understand what beta means?
Restore from backup, of course. If you used a beta without good backups,
then you are out of luck by your own design.

When Scanpst. exe download fails to repair PST files and stops scanning in the middle, then PST Repair tool is considered as the best possible option to perform the PST repair process in minimal amount of time period.
