I have read the excellent article by Marc Liron MVP, regarding the use of
'scannow' in XP.
I have vague recollections of IE5/IE6 problems (in ME) in which the later IE
had to be
uninstalled to prevent a mis-match IE5 Explorer and IE6 Outlook Express.
So.
Do I need to uninstall IE7 before I attempt to run scannow, then re-update
to IE7.
If so, are there any likely problems.

If you're doing a repair install of Windows you have to uninstall IE7

As for SFC, I wouldn't like to try it unless I had a slipstreamed disk with all updates
including IE7 on it even then I would be wary.
But that's my own personal opinion.
