Given this is aimed at making internet access safer for
the average home user, I was surprised to find that there
is no action of any kind if a scan cannot run. Most home
users I know do not leave their PCs on 24 hours a day and
have great difficulty understanding the finer points of
what is happening.
It would seem wiser to issue a warning of some kind if
scheduled scanning is enabled and it is more than a
suitable time since the scan last ran.
Also a surprise is that there is no option to perform a
scan upon system start-up or user login.
I guess it may be the age old problem of designers having
dificulty understanding what the simple end do and can
cope with.
