To scan slides/transparencies and/or negatives it is necessary to shine
light through the film onto the scanner's sensors. With flat-bed scanners
for prints, this requires some added apparatus. Your scanner instructions
should have information about this IF THE SCANNER will scan film.
If it is a film scanner, try the instruction manual or the manufacturer.
