Scanning issue (c3100 series)

i have the photosmart c3100 series, i've scanned many pictures before
and the printer works great, but i can't seem to scan this paper i
need to have scanned. i press start scan and the power button just
blinks, nothing is scanning.

anyone know why? how i can fix this? thanks!

Since you haven't said what operating system you're using, I'll assume
you're on Windows. Here's a few things to try. Attempt the scanning
again after each:

Restart you computer and un/replug the power to the printer if you
haven't already done so.

Try scanning from the HP Solution Center program on the computer
instead of from the buttons.

If the printer is plugged to a power strip, plug it to the wall
instead.

If your USB cable is > 6', get one 3-4'. If it goes through a hub,
connect it directly.

Uninstall the HP software, download the newest version from hp.com and
reinstall.

Get a Mac or a Linux computer. Scanning is *way* more reliable on
these and HP writes printer software for both.
