Hello
I am looking to buy a new scanner. I have had a look at different makes and models and as ever there is an endless choice.
Has anyone any suggestions on a reasonably priced reliable scanner.

Do you want to be able to scan old camera film negatives and/or slides?

That makes a significant difference to pricing.

I've had This one for several years now and use it frequently. I'm very pleased with the scan quality and supplied software but it did cost a little more than most, around £150.00 at the time.

I'm not sure if that means I can recommend Epson as a scanner supplier per se, just relating my experience with one particular model. I don't think the 4490 is available any more but an equivalent will be.
 
If it were me I'd go for This one simply because Epson scanners have always been good for myself, friends and family, although that's no guarantee, there are always too many factors and variables to consider when a manufacturer makes a new model.
