I have a scanner Visioneer one touch 8820 USB that worked good
on Windows XP home I was just wondering if it will work on
Windows Vista 64 Home Premium if I ran it under capability mode
I would hate to have to get a new one

Why not check with Visioneer to see if they supply Vista 64 drivers for your
model?

no they do not support it any more that is why I asked here
Well, we didn't know that until now.
As far as getting the scanner to work in Vista, you can only try. In my
case, with a different Visioneer model, I did get the scanner to work in
Vista 32, but the software refused to install in any mode, due to an
included 16 bit installer in the software itself. With Vista 64, I'd say
your chances are less than good.

Hallo Pat,
I can only give my experience with the HP4570C.
I installed the official CD and that was wrong, no way to solve any more.
I got the advice from HP to reistall Vista, no use any more of the SW, just
plug -in the scanner and yes it was working again.
This only in reduced mode via paint, Office , photshop ...

success
