Turn your PC off and disconnect the scanner (it is USB,
right?). Now turn your PC back on, boot it. After boot
completes, plug your scanner back in and your PC should
come up with a window stating that new hardware found, do
you want to install it. Click "Yes", then it will
probably ask you to insert the installation disk, if it
does not find the driver, you may have to go to the
manufacturers website to download the XP driver.
