Scanner troubles

I got a Lifetec LT9385 and have some troubles to make it work.

It has not been used much. It also remained a long time without being
used at all. Plus, it has been transported without being locked.

Anyway, when trying to scan I can hear some sound but it does not scan
and the mechanical part does not move. Of course it is unlocked.

So I'd like to know if there is anything to do or check in order to make
it work.

Thank you

Eric

You may have to take the scanner apart.

Check the belt on the stepper motor. The belt may be broken or stretched too
much or off the cog wheel.

I forgot to add, check the guide rails for lubrication. See if the carriage
is stuck.

If you lubricate the rail(s) put a very light machine oil on a rag and wipe
the rail with the rag.
