Have WXPSP2 and network HP 7310 all in one. Can print but can't scan logged
in as power user, can print and scan logged in as an administrator. Anyone
know what particular right or permission is missing? I have done much
troubleshooting and it does not appear to be in file or folder security. HP
is no help--they say contact MS. Have uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. Don't
know what else to try except to put them in admin group.

You cannot share a scanner over a network in Windows XP.

The all in one is connected to the network via tcp/ip (not shared). Logged
in as a member of the administrators group, I CAN scan a document.
Individuals who are not member of the admin group cannot scan, but can print.
