Hi,

I have a fairly old Minolta Scan Speed (F-2800) film scanner. I'm pretty
sure it was working ok some time ago.
Or at least I can't remember being unhappy with the results, so I'm assuming
it must have been ok.

Now though, the results from scans seem to lack a bit of sharpness somehow.
Direct downloaded shots from my 4 mega-pixel compact seem a lot better than
scanned slides.

So.... does anyone know if it is possible for a scanner to go out of
adjustment or alignment?
My scanner has been carted around a bit, during two house moves, so I'm
wondering if it's been jarred and needs re-setting up. Is this likely?

Any other ideas on this? Does the position I have it (on my desk) make any
difference? Is vibration an issue?

Thnaks, John

I also own a Minolta Scanspeed, the scans are a bit on the soft side, but It
may be that your 4 mega-pixel compact over sharpens the image.

Why don't you post a scan on a website so that people can give you an
opinion on the sharpness of the image.
