scanner for xp

hi guys MY problem is that i purchased a scanner and it worked well with 98 then I upgraded to xp and my scanner wont install properly . it is a ub1200 plus mustek scanner . (if that helps.) Has anyone got any ideas . thanks in advance .

Just bought and installed the same scanner on Win XP.
The instructions carry a caution:
"To Win Xp users: Please make sure to connect the scanner to your computer
before software installation."
(the full instructions tell you vice versa)
