scanner for xp?

Can anyone recommend a good but inexpensive flatbed scanner that will
work on Windows XP even when logged in as user and not Admin?
And preferrably not an HP.

An earlier post mentioned and Epson 4180 (refurbished) for under $150
on the Epson web site. It would be hard to beat that deal.
