Scanner Driver

I bought a computer from TINY P.C. now (TIME P.C.) I
bought it over 3 years ago and I have now upgraded to
winXP. I cannot find a winxp driver for my scanner (or
web cam) from the TIME web site. I have search the
internet for the drivers but I have been unsuccessful.

Is there a universal driver that will allow me to use my
USB scanner with winXP. I'm not to bothered about my web
cam but any help will be greatfully received.

I need my scanner to work as I need to scan some photos,
as part of my "best Mans" speach at my brothers wedding!!
 
Hi, Leroy.

Sorry I can't help, other than to restate the ground rules:

First: Microsoft writes Windows. Hardware makers write the drivers that
enable their products to work with Windows. So, TIME P.C. (or whoever made
and sold you the scanner), not Microsoft, is responsible for your driver.

Second: WinXP uses the NT platform, which deals with hardware much
differently from MS-DOS and Win9x/ME.

IF you can find a driver that worked with WinNT or with Win2K, it MIGHT work
with WinXP. A Win9x/ME driver is not likely to work.

Look for a manufacturer name on the scanner and webcam.. then go to the
respective websites for the manufacturers..

You might be out of luck with both devices. www.driverguide.com might
have something. If all else fails, try a Win2k driver. There are no
guarantees.
