I have uninstalled all scanner software on my Windows XP Pro computer.
However, I still found there was one driver left on my computer. The
driver showed in a software was hp ScanJet scanner 1.0 (32-32). Can
someone advise me how to remove it permanently.
Thanks,
Ray
Here is one method:

You really need the Model Number of the scanner then search hp.com support.

The OS makes a difference how to manually remove a scanner driver.
Remove the Scanner from the Registry in Windows XP.

The basic method, that I use if there is not a uninstall in the Start Menu
or in Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. USE the remove or uninstall if
present!
%SYSTEMROOT% = the drive and folder where Windows is installed. Usually
C:\Windows.
With Windows Explorer:
SystemDrive:\Program Files, look for any program folder for the Scanner
drivers and utilities. Remove any found.
%SYSTEMROOT%\Twain_32\scannerdrivername\Scannerdriver\ Remove all files and
folders for the scanner.
Any changes made in the registry can be fatal to your computer, All changes
are immediate, there is NO undo. Be Careful!
Backup the Registry. Before making changes.
Start\Run, Type regedit<Enter>.
In the registry search for the scanner name and/or driver name and/or maybe
the scanner brand.
A good search string is the name of the DS file in
%SYSTEMROOT%\Twain_32\ScannerName\Scannerdriver\*.ds
For example my Minolta Scan Dual IV scanner has this for the .ds file (TWAIN
driver). My Windows XP is on D:.
D:\WINDOWS\twain_32\DS_Dual4\DS_Dual4.DS
You would search for "ds_dual4" in the registry. Without the quotes.
Searches are not case sensitive
You can also find entries using "Minolta". Without the quotes.
