Hi- My Lexmark p3150 all in one printer, is conected to my winXP home
desktop. Is it possible so that I can have the scanner/copier wizard that
comes with Xp to be the one to use when I want to scan or even print stuff
from the pc? The way it is now, is I need to open the printer>click scan>
wait> wait some more> then save what I scan to my pc or print from there.
But I dont like the Lexmark way-If I try to scan using xp's wizard, it does
not detect scanner....etc. I like to use the wizard as the default when i
plug my digital camera and save pic's. Its easy and wonder if its possible
to use this same wizard for what I need as mentioned aboce?
thanks so much

Likely not. The multifunctions generally need to use the OEM furnished
drivers.
If the windows wizard does not recognize the multifunction after the drivers
are installed, it's doubtful that you will be able to use it.
It is possible that a driver update along with a "cleanup utility from
Lexmark might allow you to use the Wizard. You might ask Lexmark.
A similar situation I had with an Olympus camera was cured by loading a
developer level software package for the camera.
Seems that the retail camera software & drivers did not set the needed
registry entries correctly for the wizard to work.
I suspect that you have a similar situation with your lexmark and the
registry entries.
