Eric

I recently installed windows 2000 SP4 on my system in a
dual boot configuraftion with windows 98. I have installed
the scanning software that came with my scanner, along
with the most current drivers from Epson 3.4.2. The driver
installs with no problem and requests a reboot. When I try
to activate the scanner I get the normal window asking for
the program to send the scanner information to. When I
select anything I get a variety of erros that contain the
following words: "cannot open data source" Depending on
which software I send it to it states Twain cannot open
data source, or please reinstall scanner software. I have
checked to see if still image service is running and it
is. In the scanner and harware sections the scanner checks
out ok. I am a loss for what to try next. Any suggestions?
Any other information needed to help?

Oh the scanner works fine in windows 98

Have you tried the Epson support site?

Yes I have been in email contact with them going on three
weeks now. They respond about every 2 days with another
way of uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, noe of
which have so far helped. I have searched the imternet
and all I have found is other people having similar
problems with windwos 2000 sp4. I am wondering if maybe
the drivers are not being registered correctly in the
registry. I am runnign a dual boot system and my windows
2000 partition is on drive D not C. I noticed that the
self extracting software loads up on drive C.
