little John

I have just installed Windows XP Home over ME.
Where is the SCANDISK program located in XP? Not in the
Programs\Accessories\System Tools folder. But where?
Thanks,
John

Scandisk is now known as Check Disk in Windows XP:

Open the Command Prompt and type: CHKDSK /F , and hit enter.
Answer "yes" and reboot your computer.

1. Open XP's "Help and Support".
2. Look under "Pick a Help topic".
3. Click on "Performance and Maintenance"

No where. At the command line, type "chkdsk /?" (no quotes) <enter>
Or in Windows Explorer right-click on C:, choose PROPERTIES|TOOLS
tab|ERROR-CHECKING

This utility does the job that Scandisk did in '9x.

Thanks guys,
I would have never found it! I had looked in all the places I would have
expected to find it from years since Win95.
Thanks again,
John
