Hi

From a command prompt type:

chkdsk /?

or open My Computer, right click on a drive, select Properties>Tools>Error
Checking.

Note that ChkDsk is not Scandisk. Most significant difference: No
ability to interactively check the system such that it will tell you
what it has found and ASK before carrying on to "fix" it.

If you are on FATxx, you can use a Win98 DOS mode and its Scandisk
instead. If you are on NTFS, your options are that much poorer.

http://cquirke.mvps.org/whatmos.htm refers, and if using Scandisk on
FATxx, see http://cquirke.mvps.org/9x/scandisk.htm on what it finds.
