To replace the Windows 98 scandisk file, place the Windows 98 CD in your
CD Rom.

Go to Start and your Run box and enter sfc.exe and press enter.

The system file checker window will appear. Click on " Extract one file
from installation disk " put the file name " SCANDSKW.EXE " [ no quotes
] into the box and hit start.

You now have to browse to where the cab file is located on your Windows
98 CD. that location is " your CD drive letter\win98 then hit OK.

The " Save file in " box must be C:\Windows

Press OK and your file will be restored :-)

If you do not have your Windows 98 CD. Download GEODisk from
http://www.it-mate.co.uk/main_content/pcmaintanence.asp that will replace
defrag and scandisk with Win ME versions which run faster and are more
stable.

It's up to you.

Good luck

Regards

You could look in your .cab files first or use the system file checker.
My apologies if you have already done this to no avail.
