Is there a sertin way that I am to do my scaning of my computer with windows xp??? and how do I do it. This is all different from windows 98. Thanks

To defragment got to: Start>allprograms>accessories>system tools>disk
defragmentor.

To check the disk for errors go to:
Start>allprograms>accessories>command prompt

At the command prompt type: chkdsk

The chkdsk application replaces Win 9x Scandisk.

Alternatively you can go to My Computer and Right Click on the Drive you
want to scan. from the drop down menu select Properties. In the Properties
window click the Tools tab. Here you will find the tools for error checking,
defragmentation and backup.

Other than that, there is nothing you need to do any different.
