I have Defender set to scan once a week on Friday nights. If I reboot
my PC, say on a Tuesday, the Defender icon will appear in the tray
saying that I haven't scanned in 4 days and that it recommends that I
scan everyday. I haven't found a way to dismiss this icon without
invoking a scan.

IMHO, if have a schedule set up, Defender should know this and not
issue this message. Or give me a way to get rid of the tray icon.

TIA
PeteK

What build of Windows Defender are you on--see the top version number in
Help, about...

This is acknowledged as a bug by Microsoft--but it may be fixed in build
..1347.

Build .1347 is what is presently available at the download center, but no
broad upgrade notice has gone out--so you need to re-download and run the
..MSI file to get this update. (and then wait 3 days to see whether it is
fixed!)

I have Defender version 1.1.1051.0 and engine version 1.1.13030.0

I'll re-download manually and see if that takes care of it.
Thank You.
