Scan time has increased

When I first downloaded AntiSpyware it seemed great. It
caught 1 Trojan on my machine and it took about 17
minutes to do a deep full scan. Since then, it has
gradually increased in time to run the full scan. First
it went to a low 20+ minutes, then a high 20+ minutes,
then it was in the 30+ minutes, etc. etc. My last run
took 52 minutes! Why is it taking so much longer to run
now than it did in the beginning? I have not added a ton
of new files and 0 new programs. My husband's version is
still only taking about 16 or 17 minutes to run on his
machine.

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Hi Steve,

This is what is in my error log for AntiSpyware (see
below). I have not installed the upgrade yet, but intend
to do so. The error log is rather lenghty as you can see.

Thanks,
Brenda

Hi Brenda,

The log isn't that big. Some folks have had gigantic ones that grew like
a tumor ... this doesn't appear be to be the issue on your system,
though. Please let us know if installing the Beta refresh resolves the
scanning time issue.

Steve Wechsler (akaMowGreen)

Hi Steve,

I installed the upgrade and it took even longer - over an
hour to run. Then I got to thinking that perhaps I had
too many temporary internet files built up, so I went to
the Internet tools and clicked "delete files". That took
a couple of minutes to do. After that I ran the
AntiSpyware again and this time it only took 14 minutes.
So it appears that this was my problem. I'll keep an eye
on the next few runs and see if anything changes.

Thanks!
Brenda

Thanks for that post--there is at least one other thread here with the same
symptom, so this post will perhaps help others.
