Each time i scan using windows defender it gets stuck @ c:\windows\system32\
tftp.exe. Does anybody have any ideas on how to either skip this file or know
if its save to delete it ?

Hello Bricky,

What type of scan (Quick or Full) brings up that action?

So does the same thing happen when you reboot into Safe Mode to do the scan?

I think you may have to work at excluding it from the scan, as an interim
measure.

Tools, Options, scroll down to Advanced options, and fill the box, by adding
the full path and file name to the Tools/Options/ do not scan box, hit the
add button, and Save.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut.

The more important question may be if you knowingly installed Trivial FTP.

Hi Bricky,

The program should be a Microsoft program, Right click and Info give
that information, it is a file copy program from one PC to another PC on
a network (also Internet) from a Dos prompt. If the Info give something
else than it is replaced by a worm, read here

Ok let us know the out cum.

HI Еиçеl
Both scans but i have taken your advice and excluded it from the scans,
thanks for the directions. Looks like the tftp.exe may be a non microsoft pgm
& it may be some kind of worm. WIll investigate & let you know how i get on.
Thanks again
Bricky
