Scan halts on scan of wowexec.exe with a 0x8050800c error

I have scanned several times. Each time the program halts when it encounters
the windows\system32\wowexec.exe program. The error code is 0x8050800c. I
have replaced the file from a computer (which scanned with no problems) but
this did not help. Suggestions, causes?
 
This is a bug. It is possible that this will get fixed soon--perhaps this
week.

In the meantime, Real Time Protection is fully effective, as is the update
facility--however, a scan won't complete until code fixing this bug is
released. I believe that code will come in via the normal update process.
 
OK I believe you, but it's been a month now and I'm pretty tired of looking
at that error and the exclamation mark in my system tray. MS Pleeeeease fix
it!
 
This should be fixed with the latest update that was released earlier today.

Let me know if it is not.

Can you verify what build of the engine you are using? Click the little
arrow next to the big help button and then click "About Windows Defender."
Then send the contents of the window.

I'm using engine version 1.1.1303.0
