I am not certain this is the right area to post these
questions, so if not let me know where I should post them.

I am using the Access 2002. The database is split into
frontend MDE and backend MDB.
SCALE:
I would like to capture the weight from a scale into a
Access database. The scale has the ability to print the
weight. Is this possible and if so what do I need to do it?

BARCODE:
The labels on the carton have a unique number in barcode.
Presently these are input into the database manually. I
would like to be able to read the barcode to put it into
the database. Same questions as above. Is this possible
and if so what do I need to work with barcodes in Access
2002.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Thank you for taking the time to support those of us who

Barcode readers go through a "wedge" into the keyboard and act as if you
typed the same values.
So the user is responsible for "positioning" the cursor in the right text
box before pressing the trigger on the scan gun. Then it acts as if the user
typed it. You may be able to program a few things in like tabbing out of the
field when done entering.

I assume a scale would work the same way in that the user would be
responsible for positioning the cursor to the right field before pressing
"weigh". I do not know what device sits between the scale and the PC though.
