Hello.
We have a Win 2000SBS and are looking to change the
machine and the OS to SBS2003. Is there an easy way to
install the 2nd machine so that the domain SID remains the
same. This should stop the client machines in our offices
creating new profiles for the new domain.

Thanks

SIDS are unique - that's why they exist. I suggest you post to
m.p.windows.server.sbs for help with the migration - I believe you can
accomplish what you want w/r/t profiles.

You cannot retain the domain sid unless doing a inplace upgrade on
sbs, however you can can use ADMT to migrate computer accounts and
local profiles to the new domain or use the moveuser command from
Resource Kit

See Migrating from Small Business Server 2000 or Windows 2000 Server
to Windows Small Business Server 2003.
