I have trouble receiving large faxes. Sometime it just dies and other ties it
will receive 1 or 2 pages. My modem is not the best, but it is an Intel
Chipset modem. Any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

The modem that you are using. is that a External or a Internal modem.?

Hi Henry,

Just look up at http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hcl/default.mspx?gssnb=1 for
your modem being listed in the Windows OS HCL of which you are using. If it
is not listed, then only the manufacturer or the vendor can help you on it.
Probably you can get the latest driver updates from them and check the fax
once the modem drivers are updated.

I had many issues with cheap modems, even from well-known manufacturers such
as Zoom, with Rockwell and Lucent chipsets. I had made the wrong assumption
that modems were basically commodity items that performed equivalently.

Spending $ 30 or so more for a better quality USR 5610B or Multitech ZPX
will save you a world of grief.
