I am trying to use sbc dsl. It is installed and
connects. When I look at the enternet 300 box it gives me
an IP address but when I go to msdos command ipconfig I
get all zeroes for an IP address. I am getting the run
around from everyone I call. I have tried advice from
other forums with resetting the network choices and the
TCP/IP settings. Nothing works. I connect exceedingly
slowly. Any ideas?

your problem is in your first sentence. SBC! I had a
client that had their dsl and they would not admit to
ANYTHING being screwed up, even after we demonstrated
that they had a problem and were specific about what the
problem was and how to resolve it. Their response was:
This is the way we provide our service and we do not
support any deviations from that. Dump them and get
someone else who will provide SUPPORT.

I take it u must be using win2k..... since you are using enternet... if you
have xp scrap it make it with pppoe wizard. Anyway... sounds like its not
binding... when u use ipconfig. Use the /all switch to view the ip's of all
your connections. If you have one nic card... then you should have two ip
listings in the screen. One for the nic card and one for the enternet
connection. If your nic card is the one that is showing the 0.0.0.0 for the
ip address you need to assign it an ip address. Most of the time windows
will assign the 169 private range... use that or a 198 class. It don't
matter to much. Also make sure you installed the correct driver if using the
card supplied by sbc in your kit. If all all else fails... stick in the cd
and find the noreboot and the reboot folder to reinstall the enternet 300
software. the noreboot version on enternet won't work with win2k server.. I
used the reboot version and it installed fine. Hope this helps

Just a couple of questions
1. what OS and what connection settings are used?

2. when you mean it is installed and connects, do you mean that Network
Connection folder shows connected?
