I have been receiving emails from friends of mine that says there is an
attachment, but there isn't any attachment.

I've asked them to resend and still nothing. I have cleared the "dangerous
email thing" box and still nothing.

I used to get attachments, but now I am not. Please help!!! I can't figure
this one out.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
And email just says there is an attachment in the body, but no attachment is
showing with a paper clip.

I can c&p one to show you if it would help.

I checked out the link and then changed the the setting to read in plain
text. I'll see if that helps and let you know.
thx again for the help and i think Vista has a lot of bugs that need to be
addressed yet.

Ok, nothing has helped at all. If I go the my main server page and check the
email I can see the attachments. They show up in the file size column, but
even in plain text I can't view them.

Anymore suggestions???

I checked the tools thing and it is set the way you said. I also tried the
file, save attachment and it's not highlighted, so no being able to save it
and open it another way.

Here is a copy of the email for you to look at:

See it says message attached and there is no paper clip to open it with.

I was looking around the forum last night and ran across something that
started making me think. Could these emails be in RTF and thats why I can't
open the attachment? I know win. mail doesn't handle RTF, so I was just
wondering.

That message seems to me to have never had an attachment, the sender is
probably pasting a forwarded message and calling it an attachment?
They are sending you a link to the car finder tool,

Ask the sender if they are using Outlook (not Outlook Express) from
Microsoft Office. If so, ask them to please send using plain text. If the
mail was sent from Outlook using Outlook's RTF format then Windows Mail will
never find the attachment. Outlook Express does not understand Outlook's
RTF format. Ask the Outlook user to please use Plain Text, especially when
sending attachments.

They mignt be sending through an Exchange server set to change messages to
RTF.

Ok guys, here is another one that a friend sent from yahoo and it is a .jpg.
The file size is 9758KB. Still no paperclip and what you see below comes up
in the body of the email. I did notice that there is a purple arrow on the
letter beside who it is from. Do you know what that means? I tried clicking
on it and nothing happened. I cant save the attachment either.

Note: forwarded message attached.

thats because there isnt one. The file size shows it to be 9758KB but no way
of opening it.

If I knew how to take a screen shot of the whole page I would, but I do not
know how to do that in win mail. Then you could see all of it.
