Trouble is, unless it's classified, privileged information, I can't find out
anything about where to see/buy it or how much it costs, and the MS Hardware
site
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productdetails.aspx?pid=086
wasn't much help at all.

They are available at retail outlets that sell Microsoft hardware. and
the price is "set" by the retailer. Pick where you will shop, and ask.

I should have mentioned that in addition to the MS site being of absolutely
no help, the very same Google search yielded the same results.

Thanks all, but the keyword which is *most* important about this product is
that it's the (underlined and bold) *Natural* Wireless Laser, model 6000.
All of the links provided eventually lead to the light gray model.

Like the 6000, which is not only available as a standalone product as well
as being bundled with a keyboard, this newest model is a radical departure
in mouse design. Sorta kinda like the Evoluent
(http://www.ergopro.com/index.cfm?obj=prodDetails&pID=439); it (the MS
product) is almost vertical.

Yep. That's the one. Thanks, Bob.

(conventional wisdom would have one presume that the information on that
site, while not included in the original hardware product offering page,
might have been linked to on that very same 'New Product' page)

You're welcome. Can't say about Microsoft, but some days we have a heck
of time keeping web site "cross references" working.

Type any of the following into a search box.. CompUSA, Best Buy, Office
Depot..

Geez...chill, dude. We've beaten the already dead horse senseless, the fact
that the product is not yet available.

Sorry to have wasted your bandwidth.

Charles

I had to go take a look as I am into the latest toys.. an interesting design
for sure.. while the hand position may be more ergonomic, I always use my
thumb as a brake or movement damper.. the thumb position on this mouse would
not allow for that, and it would take some while for me to adapt to using my
little finger for the same job.. I may not jump at the chance to buy it when
available, although it would be interesting to try it out for a while..
