Saving XP settings

I have a machine I suspect is infected. What I want to do is just
reformat the drive and install a new version of XP.

Is there a way to save my current setup without the risk of re
infecting the drive?

I want to save FireFox book marks.

Depends on what you mean by "my current setup."

Those you can safely save. Just use Firefox's Backup or 'Export to
HTML' functions.

I was trying to remember what else I would miss. FireFox is the main
thing.
