Hi. I just found out that something called the Windows Update Catalog
at http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog allows one to
download Windows Updates to store on your hard drive or burn to a CD.
Before, I always had to redownload the updates after I reinstalled
Windows. I have Win XP, and when I went to the site the only things I
found for XP were SP1 and RTM. I don't know what RTM means and the
website doesn't explain it either. I already have SP1 burned to CD but
even with SP1 I still neeed to download over 60 MB of additional
updates. Would those additional updates be in the RTM selection? If
not, where? Thanks.

RTM means "Released To Manufacturing." This would be the original
version of WinXP, before any hotfixes and the Service Pack were made
available. If you already have SP1, you need only download those
hotfixes released after SP1; the service pack will include all earlier
fixes.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping there was a way to save updates
created *after* SP1. For example, I updated my SP1 today and had to
download over 60 MB of updates. It would be nice if I could have
archived the additional updates.
