I have a Sony mini dvd video camera and made a practice video. How can I save
the video from the mini dvd to my computer? I have Windows Media Player and
Media Center on my computer.
The video plays on the computer but I just have not figured out how to save
it.

I have a grandbaby on the way in a few months and want to get good at this.
I am new at this and appreciate your help.
thanks:

Brian

You use a firewire cable. If your PC does not have a firewire port, you
should consider purchasing a PCI firewire card.

Once that's installed (or if you already have one, even better), connect the
camcorder to the PC with the firewire cable and turn the camcorder on, and
in VCR mode. The PC should recognize that a camcorder is now attached
(you'll hear the 'ding' connection sound) and a box should pop up asking if
you'd like to launch Windows Movie Maker to capture the video. From then
on, it's fairly straightforward.
