Hello,

When you have edited your movie click on FILE > SAVE MOVIE FILE or press
CTRL-P and follow the wizard

This does not apppear to be the case. I have now tried to save the same file
on my sons PC and had no problem. MY PC is brand new, top spec, so I am at a
loss what to do. Tried saving a number of different files and always get a
6Kb .wmv file. WMM2 appears to encode without problems - taking about 5 mins.

sorry to be a pain but the wbe site doesn't really help me. I am not getting
error messages when I save. The rendering process apears to be working ok and
the movie is not complex, but the resutling file is still 6kb ?????? help
required here

Ok well the sourse files i am using are music videos about 5 mins long
variuos sources , mainly Kazaa. For example , just tried Thriller - Michael
Jackson 13.40 mins 350x240 140Mbits.I have tried wmv, avi and mpg. I just
import the video and save to disk (c Drive) at pocket pc format (and have
tried diffenent formats) but always get a 6kb file which will not play. MY PC
is 3.6Gbit band new, 400gbit hard drive ect HP advanced. Odd thing is i have
never had this problem on either of my other PCs. Just tried Thriller - no
problem at all ? weird

Ok Here is an update. I was saving me movie files to D/mydocuments/my videos
(the d dive has 144GBits spare !!) I have just changed the destination to my
desktop and it works !!!!!!!!! very odd. but I am now happy, and confused.

Hello,

Are you saying you have the same problem on two computers?

As far as what keys to press is concerned I'm afraid to say that it IS the
case. But I can't speak to the very out of date version 1 of movie maker
only 2.n

Can you confirm that....

1) You have an audio card fitted and that it is functioning properly
2) You have installed SP2 and that any conflicts that arose have been dealt
with
3) How much space is free on your C Drive and any other drives?
4) When did you last remove any redundant files
5) When did you last empty your Recycle Bin
6) If you use the Symantec Utilities when did you last empty your protected
files store

If you need help with No 4 you can download the free program Delete Dross
from my website...to use...select drive, Click Start, Click Check All and
then Click Start. If you have a particular additional file type you want to
search for and delete use the Add option when it appears. You will see the
format for the description...the * is a wildcard meaning one or more
characters. PLEASE NOTE: The purpose of Delete Dross is to permanently
delete files, they will NOT go into your Recycle Bin

If none of the above solves your problem. Look for the FAQ I post most days
at 1300hrs BST and read the section on re-installing SP2, DirectX, The
Codec Pack etc. Follow the instructions to the letter and if that also
fails (assuming your answers to 1 to 4 are good) I can sell you a nice
shiny 10lb lump hammer.

If you want further help on the Delete Dross program ask via the Common
Rooms on my website

Hello,

Just noticed this reply....are you using QUOTA's on your drives????? The
Descktop is simply a sub directory of your C Drive. What happens if you
choose to save to C:\myvideo.avi or wmv

John No i do not have QUOTA's running. More testing and I have concluded
that I can save anywhere on C drive ok (140G bits free) and anywhere on the d
drive (180Gbits free) apart from d:/ my documents/my videos. So I have made a
new folder on the D drive and am saving stuff there OK . All very odd, must
be related to the folder. Anyway, I am happy now so thanks for you help. Bye
