Saving to Computer Problems

I successfully saved one project to my computer and then opened Sonic and
made a DVD. This was a 15 minute movie made of slides and music. When I was
saving to Movie Maker I followed directions on website and although it took
awhile it eventually worked. Had a couple of times that it failed with
similar error message where it lists several things that could have caused it
to fail, but it did eventually work.

I made another project of slides and music but 25 minutes long. I tried to
save to my computer using same steps as previous project but keep getting
error message.

Like others probably right now I am trying to create a Christmas gift. Hope
to figure this out this morning if possible.

Thanks!

What is the error message?

You may have an issue with incompatible
source files.

Many formats are reportedly compatible with
Movie Maker but the most reliable choices are:

Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv-avi
Music - wma, wav, wmv

Maybe the following articles will help.

In the Save Movie Wizard right under the heading it says "Cannot Complete The
Save Movie Wizard - Your movie was not saved successfully" and then it says
"Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify
that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that
the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk
space available, and then try again."

Pictures are .jpg and songs (music) are .mp3

Try converting the .mp3s to .wma before importing
into Movie Maker and you may have a better result.

The following freeware can do the conversion:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(FWIW...you may want to uncheck
all the boxes on the final screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
open the program and choose an Output Folder...
(this is where you will find your files after they are
converted)

Drag/drop your .mp3 audio clips onto the
main screen...

Select 'All to WMA' / OK...

Click...Start...on the toolbar...

That should do it...

FWIW...PhotoStory 3 is a better app for still shots
and music.

or...

(yes...it will run on Vista)
