Saving to CD Drives

I have recently installed a new computer and networked it with my old one. Everything seems to be working O.K. with one exception. I can't save to either of my two CD 's. I get the message "Can't save to this drive. Read only".
I have spent several days trying to fix this, and I feel I have tried everything. Is there something obvious that I am missing

You might get better help in the networking group, but have you shared the
drives on the network? And if so are they shared as "Full" ? They might be
read only.

How are you trying to save?
What CD writing software are you using.
